Deep Cleansing Skin Treatments

Using Genosys Professional Skincare

What is a Deep Pore Cleansing Facial?

Deep pore cleansing facials use a relaxing hot towel to open clogged pores and gently massage and hydrate the skin. The hot towel phase of the facial is followed up by manual extraction, in which stubborn blackheads and whiteheads are manually removed from below the skin’s surface. Moisturising and toning products are then applied to the skin to prevent moisture loss from within and protect the skin’s freshly exfoliated surface. The facial treatment is topped off with a facial mask to extract any debris and oil that wasn’t removed from the skin’s surface and tighten the pores.

What is involved in a Deep Pore Cleansing Facial?

Often referred to as a “traditional facial”, deep pore cleansing facial treatments go beyond what the conventional facial can do. The deep cleanse improves the skin’s surface from within its underlying layers, making the treatment suitable for alleviating specific skin problems, such as acne, dehydration, and fine lines. The process opens, cleanses, and protects the pores with professional cleansing products, hot towel, manual extractions, facial massage, serums and facial masks. Deep pore cleansing facials are ideal for anyone with skin imperfections, and clients can expect a cleaner, brighter complexion following treatment.

Deep pore cleansing also promotes rejuvenation and healing for the facial skin. The relaxing facial massage techniques used by me nourish the skin from the inside out by stimulating blood flow and circulation to the facial skin. Increased blood flow attracts more oxygen to the skin, allowing for detoxification of damaging toxins and skin impurities. The facial massage techniques also strengthen, tighten, and tone facial muscles and may even improve the appearance of tell-tale signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Deep pore facial treatments aren’t a one-size fits all solution to skin care. Different skin care conditions require certain products and techniques to safely and effectively cleanse the facial skin. Our facial services are customised to the skin type and specific skincare concerns of each client to produce optimal results.

Our process starts with facial cleansing, where I will use a foaming action cleanser and professional cleansing products from Genosys. After the skin is thoroughly cleansed, I will move on to the exfoliation phase of the facial service. The enzymes most often found in facial exfoliants are activated by the hot towels, and the heat works double duty to open the pores and relax the client. After the pores have been opened, and dead skin cells are exfoliated from the skin, the therapist will move on to the extraction phase. Extractions remove stubborn blackheads and whiteheads from the pores that the cleansing and exfoliating phases failed to remove. Once completed, I will then calm and sooth the skin with a therapeutic facial massage.

The facial services conclude with the application of a facial mask that’s tailored to the client’s skin type and the condition of his or her skin following the facial massage. There are a variety of facial masks available that are formulated with different ingredients to address specific skin imperfections. The mask is left on for 10 to 15 minutes, during which the active ingredients will tighten the pores and extract any remaining dirt or oil to the skin’s surface. The mask is then removed and followed up by the moisturising phase of the facial service.

Moisturises restore much-needed hydration to the skin and protect the skin’s freshly exfoliated surface from acne-causing oil and bacteria. Deep skin cleansing can be drying for people with sensitive skin, so moisturisers help to prevent moisture loss from within. It’s important to always follow up deep cleansing facial services with a high-quality sunblock because the skin’s top layer is most susceptible to sun damage after it’s been exfoliated, whether manually, chemically, or with lasers.

Clients should schedule maintenance facials every four to six weeks to maintain the results of a deep pore cleansing facial and ensure that the results last as long as possible.

Do I need a Deep Pore Cleansing Facial?

If you have severely oily or acne-prone skin, and you’ve been manually extracting blackheads or whiteheads at home, it’s more beneficial to have these skin imperfections addressed professionally. It takes a skilled and professionally trained skin care clinician to safely and effectively extract blackheads and whiteheads. Manual extraction of blackheads at home can irritate the skin and possibly lead to scarring and skin infections. If you’ve been prescribed oral medications for acne by your dermatologist, a Deep Pore Cleansing Facial from Faceit By Ian can complement your anti-acne regimen and leave your skin looking and feeling smoother and healthier.

Is it good for any type of skin?

Deep pore cleansing facials are beneficial for all skin types, including dry, oily, sensitive, and combination skin. Deep cleansing facials are also a wonderful alternative to chemical peels and laser treatments for people who are pregnant or clients who want to avoid these procedures completely or during the summer months.
